![]() To date we are close to realizing ~200,000 SGD in donations received. The program is already seeing visible impacts to children who are able to leave the Intensive care sooner as well as realise a full recovery, something we understand was not considered possible beyond hoping for the best. Examples of these interventions include the assessment and optimisation of pain control, prevention of withdrawal syndrome and delirium, and measures to facilitate sleep and improve family engagement. Our objectives have since been expanded to include other aspects of care that aim to prevent critical illness related morbidity, improve patient outcomes and improve the experience of patients and their families. The initial focus of this Fund was on the Let's MoveEM Programme, a multi-disciplinary initiative with a focus on early mobilisation of critically ill patients to improve their outcomes. Following his passing, my wife and I wanted to see how we could carry this belief forward and as many of you will recall we set up a charity in his name, The Felix Bell Paediatric Fund. To that end we had heard from our son’s friends how he was always there to support those who needed help more than others, either just as a friend or support during their own difficult times. I received great advice early on in our new journey that we should think about what we could do to remember our son in a positive way so that the gap could be partially filled at least. When you have spent many years as a family of five, its clear that each family member plays a certain role and contributes in a different way and the loss of our son made this very evident to us. ![]() ![]() It has been two years since our son passed away and as such I am still learning how we keep growing with a huge hole in our family.
